Hogan Lovells has announce the arrival of Richard Puttré as a partner to bolster the firm’s projects and infrastructure capabilities in Miami and Latin America.

Puttré joins the firm from Jones Day, where he led the firm’s global projects and infrastructure practice and was a key member of the Latin America transactional team. He previously was resident in that firm’s Madrid office for more than 13 years and helped open their Mexico City office before moving to Miami in 2014. Puttré brings more than 30 years of experience in complex, cross-border project finance transactions and represents sponsors, developers, lenders, and investors in the development, financing, acquisition, and disposition of major capital-intensive assets in the United States and Latin America.

Puttré has been actively involved in the American public-private partnership (PPP) sector, representing bidders, concession companies, underwriters, and lenders in the acquisition, development, and financing of major transportation and social infrastructure projects throughout the United States. Much of his recent experience has also focused on the renewable energy sector, particularly in representing sponsors and developers in connection with multiple photovoltaic (PV) solar generation facilities in Peru, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and Panama. Many of these transactions have involved multilateral banks and development finance institutions from various countries around the world.

In welcoming Puttré to Hogan Lovells, Global Corporate & Finance Practice Group Leader James Doyle commented: «We are delighted that Rich has chosen to join Hogan Lovells. He has an impressive track record in projects and the infrastructure market in both the U.S. and in Latin America and his experience will be an excellent addition to our strong Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Project Group in the Americas.»

Jorge Diaz Silveira, who serves as Americas Practice Area Leader for the group as well as Office Managing Partner in Miami, added: «There is a tremendous need for new investment in infrastructure and energy solutions, not just in the United States, but in Latin America. Additionally, the transition toward renewables and cleaner energy production, storage and delivery has created a new wave of projects, which will continue in the future. Richard is a highly regarded lawyer in this practice area both in the domestic United States and in Latin America, and his deep experience of projects including transport, renewable energy, social infrastructure and P3 makes him an excellent addition to our projects group in south Florida.»

Puttré remarked: «Hogan Lovells is known globally as a power player in corporate and finance work, and it’s long been recognized in Miami for its outstanding projects group. I’ve always held its team members in high regard over the years, including current firm CEO Miguel Zaldivar, and look forward to expanding our group’s offerings for clients throughout the Americas.»

Puttré has been repeatedly recognized by Chambers in its Global, Latin America, and US guides, as well as The Legal 500 in Latin America.
