International law firm Reed Smith has announced the appointment of partner Emmanuel Vergnaud to join the firm’s Europe and Middle East corporate group based in Paris. Emmanuel will join the firm with associate Mickaël Levi, both of whom were previously at the Paris office of Denton Wilde Sapte. Emmanuel specialises in private equity. He has a experience in a wide range of transactions including French domestic and cross-border M&A, LBO transactions (generally as an advisor for French and foreign investment funds on the acquisition or sale of interests) and corporate and commercial projects including joint ventures and restructuring deals. James Wilkinson, partner and head of Reed Smith’s European and Middle East corporate group, commented: “Emmanuel will be a strong addition to our team and his cross border expertise will be invaluable to our cross servicing initiative to clients. We can continue to serve clients of our Paris office and also provide an even better service to clients in other offices undertaking M&A and private equity transactions in France.” Benoit Charot, office managing partner of Reed Smith’s Paris office, commented: “We welcome the arrival of Emmanuel to our corporate team.
