International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP has advised Le Mans Stadium (a subsidiary of Vinci S.A. and Vinci Concessions) on the financing of a project comprising the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the future Le Mans Stadium, the “MMArena”. The project’s €67 million debt financing was provided by Calyon and the Caisse Régionale de Crédit Agricole Mutuel de l’Anjou et du Maine. The construction work of the 25,000-seat MMArena will take approximately two years and the stadium is expected to be ready in time for France’s 2010-11 premier league football season. The Freshfields team included Amir Jahanguiri (partner), Driss Bererhi and Michaël Armandou on the project financing aspects of the deal, and Thierry Laloum (partner) on the public law aspects.
