Norton Rose advises on nuclear power programme in Jordan
International legal practice Norton Rose LLP has advised the Jordanian Atomic Energy Commission on the first phase of its nuclear power programme. The first phase consists of an exploration agreement with French nuclear power utility Areva, to explore and subsequently mine the considerable uranium reserves in central Jordan . The exploration agreement was signed in Paris on 30 September. Norton Rose LLP is now advising on the second phase of the programme, which is the negotiation of a mining agreement with Areva. Chris Brown, partner, Norton Rose LLP, commented: “We are very pleased to be working with the Jordanian Atomic Energy Commission on this project which is of major importance for Jordan .
