Cleary Gottlieb Represents Finmeccanica and Alenia Aeronautica in Industrial Partnership with Mubadala Development Company
Cleary Gottlieb is representing Finmeccanica and its subsidiary Alenia Aeronautica (Alenia), in a hi-tech industrial partnership in the aerospace sector with Mubadala Development Company (Mubadala), the business development and investment company owned by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The first project to be launched under the partnership concerns the manufacturing of composite components for civil aircraft in a new plant to be set up in Abu Dhabi. Alenia will provide technology, technical assistance and specialized training, and transfer composite aerostructure manufacturing work to the new plant. Alenia will also provide support to develop the manufacturing processes needed for international industrial certifications. Activities will begin this year and are expected to reach full capacity by 2011. The Cleary Gottlieb team is being led by counsel, Stefano Sciolla in the Rome office and partner, Gamal Abouali in the Paris office.
