It was announced yesterday that Essent will enter a partnership with RWE to become part of the fourth largest energy supplier in Europe. International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP advised Essent on the transaction. Shawn der Kinderen, the Amsterdam based partner who led the Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer team of advisers, comments: “We are very proud to have advised our long-standing client Essent on this significant and complex transaction. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Essent as part of the new combination”. The team includes corporate partners Steven Perrick and Shawn der Kinderen, competition partner Winfred Knibbeler and tax partner Hans Galavazi, as well as corporate senior associates Harald Spruit and Alexander Doorman.
