International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised the underwriters and sponsor of the £584.2 million rights issue announced yesterday by leading European real estate company Hammerson plc. Freshfields advised Citi and Deutsche Bank as joint Underwriters and Lazard as joint sponsor and sole financial adviser. The Freshfields team, led by corporate partners Monica McConville and Don Guiney, included corporate partner Will Lawes and associates Jennifer Bareham, Erica Ambrosioni, Will Gaunt and Oren Bechor. Real estate partner Mark Wheelhouse and associate Will Deeprose advised on real estate aspects of the rights issue. Corporate partner David Revcolevschi advised on aspects relating to Hammerson's listing in France. The rights issue is subject to approval by Hammerson's shareholders.
