International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised Spanish gas company Gas Natural SDG SA on its rights issue. Through the rights issue, Gas Natural issued 447.8 million shares at a price of €7.82 per share, raising approximately €3.502bn. The proceeds will fund Gas Natural’s intended acquisition of global energy company Unión Fenosa. Freshfields’ team was led by corporate partners Armando Albarran (Madrid), Don Guiney and Monica McConville (London), and included corporate associates James Pointon, Regina Madrazo, Pía Navazo and Laurence Morgan in Madrid, and Jay Wetterau and Joe Amann in London.
