International legal practice Norton Rose Studio Legale has advised Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A. as arranger of a €76,6 million combined equity and export credit backed facilities package to Safwood S.p.A. and its Russian subsidiary to finance a greenfield plant for the production of OSB (Oriented Strand Board) wood panels in the Republic of Komi (Russian Federation). The transaction is supported by SIMEST and SACE. Safwood is a leading OSB producer and has been active in Russia for over a decade. Arturo Sferruzza, banking partner in Milan, led the team on this deal. He was assisted by Milan based banking associate Michael Poole. Dmitri Gravin partner, Moscow office and Lyudmila Yurkina advised on Russian law issues. The borrowers were advised by the law firm of Janni Fauda.
