Norton Rose advises StatoilHydro on the 315 MW Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm project

International legal practice Norton Rose LLP has advised StatoilHydro, the leading Norwegian energy company, on the sale of a 50% stake in Scira Offshore Energy Limited to Statkraft, a Norwegian-based generator of renewable energy, and on the associated joint venture arrangements between the parties.
Scira is the owner of the Sheringham Shoal offshore wind farm project. The wind farm has received all the approvals needed for construction and operation. Construction will begin in early summer 2009, and a gradual start-up of production is scheduled for 2011. When completed, the wind farm will consist of 88 turbines, and is planned to produce enough electricity to power around 220,000 UK homes per annum.
The Norton Rose LLP team was led by Mauro Mattiuzzo, with corporate assistance from Tanya Kornilova and Philip Schock. John Wood advised on banking aspects and Andrew Roycroft on Tax.
