The international legal practice Norton Rose LLP, today announced that Geert-Jan van Rijthoven is to join the firm’s Amsterdam office as a partner and will found the corporate notarial practice for the Norton Rose Group. Geert-Jan joins Norton Rose LLP from Baker Mckenzie in Amsterdam where he has been a partner from 1 July 2005. Geert-Jan has thirteen years of experience and was appointed by the Dutch Crown as Civil-Law Notary on 30 January 2008. “The move is an important milestone and strategic step in the development of the Amsterdam office of Norton Rose LLP”, says Amsterdam Managing Partner Ep Hannema. “With Geert-Jan’s arrival we will be able to also provide notarial services seamlessly to our clients in the corporate practice. The expansion of the Amsterdam office will also be an asset for clients in the other practice areas such as banking & finance, tax and infrastructure.” Geert-Jan commented: “I am truly excited about his opportunity. I am joining a team of driven and very entrepreneurial lawyers who have successfully built and expanded their practices in Amsterdam.
