Slaughter and May is advising Centrica plc on the final cash offer announced by its subsidiary, Centrica Resources (UK) Limited, for the entire issued share capital of Venture Production plc that it does not already own. The offer values Venture at approximately £1.3 billion. Venture is an independent exploration and production company which acquires, develops and brings into production discovered but undeveloped oil and gas fields in the North Sea. Sullivan & Cromwell LLP is advising Centrica plc on US law aspects of the offer.
