Shearman & Sterling represents Symphony Technology Group in acquisition of MSC.Software

Shearman & Sterling LLP is representing Symphony Technology Group in its acquisition of all of the outstanding shares of MSC.Software in a one-step cash merger transaction valued at approximately $360 million. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including approval of MSC's stockholders and regulatory approvals, and is expected to close near the end of the third quarter of 2009.
Symphony Technology Group is a strategic private equity firm with the mission of investing in and building great software and services companies. MSC.Software Corporation is a global leader of simulation solutions that help companies make money, save time and reduce costs associated with designing and testing manufactured products.
The Shearman & Sterling team is led by partner Steve Camahort (San Francisco-Mergers & Acquisitions) and associates Jeffrey Wolf (San Francisco-Mergers & Acquisitions) and Danielle Giles (San Francisco-Mergers & Acquisitions).
