Quinn brings combination of corporate, law firm and government experience to firm's tax group The international law firm Shearman & Sterling LLP has announced that Jeffrey A. Quinn, formerly a Managing Director in the Corporate Finance Group in Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch, has joined the firm. He will be Of Counsel, serving in the firm's New York and Washington, DC offices. Prior to working in Merrill Lynch's Corporate Finance Group in New York, Mr. Quinn served as a Managing Director in its Debt Markets Division in London. He also was a Managing Director in the Structured Products Group at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse. A former partner at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, Mr. Quinn also served as an attorney in the US Treasury Department's Office of Tax Policy earlier in his career. Mr. Quinn earned his JD degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1979 and an AB from the University of Michigan in 1976. Mr. Quinn is the second Tax Of Counsel added to the New York and Washington, DC offices this year. Kevin Dolan, formerly a Senior Vice President and Senior Tax Counsel at Merrill Lynch, joined Shearman & Sterling in March.
