Freshfields announces new sector group leaders

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer announced ysterday new leaders for two of its global industry sector groups. Ludwig Leyendecker has been appointed as sole leader for the global Private Equity group, as the terms of current co-heads Chris Bown and Nils Koffka have recently expired. Chris will continue to play a central role in the group’s efforts, particularly in London, as the new head of the London corporate team focused on private equity. Nils will take over from Edward Braham as co-head of the global Infrastructure and Transport Group, alongside existing co-head Nick Bliss. This change follows Edward’s recent appointment as global leader of the firm’s corporate practice group. Each of these appointments will run for a four-year term. Ted Burke, Freshfields’ chief executive, comments: ‘We're very grateful for all that Chris, Nils and Edward have accomplished as sector group leaders. Chris founded the private equity group and, together with Nils, turned it into a real strength of the firm. Edward, along with Nick Bliss, founded the ITG group, and it has become a major focus area for us. We're confident that Ludwig and Nils, in their new roles, will be able to build on these very strong foundations.’
