Norton Rose advises Dutch supermarket chain BV Sperwer Holding on its 514m Euro bid for Super de Boer NV

International legal practice Norton Rose LLP is advising Dutch supermarket chain BV Sperwer Holding (Sperwer) on its bid for Super de Boer NV, (which is majority owned by France's Casino Guichard-Perrachon SA.) for a total value of 514m Euro. The deal will include the subsequent acquisition by AholdNV of approximately 40 Super de BoerNV stores from Sperwer. Sperwer is a prominent Dutch retail franchise organisation owned by a co-operative whose 270 members are the franchisees operating under the 'Plus ' retail brand. Sperwer has so far outbid rivals, privately-owned Jumbo Groep BV who have formed a coalition with retail chain Schuitema N.V. In 2006 Sperwer acquired 120 stores from the same target company, Laurus N.V, as it was then known, upon which Norton Rose LLP also advised.
