DLA Piper boosts Norwegian competition practice

DLA Piper has appointed Kjetil Haare Johansen as partner in its Litigation and Regulatory group. Kjetil joins from the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), where he worked for two years as legal counsel on free trade agreements. Kjetil has more than 10 years experience as a competition, trade and commercial lawyer and has particularly strong international experience. He previously worked for Norwegian law firm, Bugge, Arentz-Hansen & Rasmussen in Norway, the Norwegian Competition Authority and Norske Skog. Kjetil's versatile experience in international trade and distribution, competition law and government contracts will significantly boost DLA Piper's client offering in the area of competition. He will also head the competition law group in DLA Piper's Norway office, which primarily focuses on competition law, EU and commercial law. Runar Hansen, location head for Litigation & Regulatory says "We are very happy that Kjetil joined DLA Piper. Kjetil will contribute to strengthen us in an area in escalation, in accordance with our clients’ challenges and needs for legal counselling." Kjetil officially joined DLA Piper on 5 October.
