Freshfields advises on Yell Group £660m placing and open offer

International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised the underwriters to Yell Group Plc’s placing and open offer announced to the London Stock Exchange today. The deal which will raise gross proceeds of approximately £660 million is designed to strengthen Yell’s capital structure, immediately reducing debt and supporting the company’s strategic and operational focus. Advising J.P. Morgan Cazenove, Rothschild, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, HSBC, BNP Paribas, Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets and RBS Hoare Govett, the Freshfields team was composed of corporate partners Simon Witty and Julian Makin who were supported by senior corporate associates Doug Smith, Richard Blair and Mark Austin.
