DLA Piper appointed preferred provider of legal services to Kraft Foods

DLA Piper announced today that it has been appointed as preferred provider of legal services to Kraft Foods, the world's second-largest food company, following a competitive bid process. Effective 1 January 2010, DLA Piper will handle the day-to-day legal needs of Kraft Foods' international business units on a non–exclusive basis. DLA Piper, which has a substantial presence across Asia, Europe and the Middle East, was selected for its ability to provide a seamless and consistently high-quality service across a broad range of disciplines. Relevant disciplines include advertising, contract/commercial, corporate, employment, food law, IT, information systems, litigation and real estate. Robert Bishop, corporate partner at DLA Piper and Kraft Foods' client relationship partner, said: "Given the current economic environment, we are acutely aware of our clients' needs to control costs across the board.
