Freshfields advises The Gartmore Group on its IPO

International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is advising leading equity and alternative asset management firm The Gartmore Group on its initial public offering (IPO) on the London Stock Exchange. Subject to market conditions, the IPO is expected to close in mid-December. The Gartmore Group intends to use the proceeds it receives from the IPO to reduce its net debt to approximately £150 million. In addition, the IPO provides the opportunity for current shareholders to realise part of their investment in the company. Freshfields’ team advising Gartmore includes partners Stephen Revell, Jonathan Baird, Will Lawes and Stuart Grider, senior associates Margaret Lu, Sheena Singla and Jennifer McCarthy and associate Evan Nacke (all from the firm’s Capital Markets Group).
