International law firm Reed Smith has announced the appointment of new partner Graham Green to its employment group in London. Graham joins the firm from McDermott Will & Emery (McDermott) on 7th December 2009. Prior to McDermott Graham was in the employment department at Linklaters. Graham’s practice covers all aspects of employment law. He has extensive experience in the High Court, Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal. He defends all types of discrimination claims including race, sex, age and disability discrimination and has significant experience with whistleblowing claims, unfair dismissal and disputes over contractual entitlements. Recently Graham’s contentious work has focussed on high value bonus claims and claims based on restraint of trade issues, including the impact of restraint of trade doctrine on the terms of deferred compensation arrangements. Graham also has many years of experience in all employment aspects of transactional work. Graham has worked on numerous high profile TUPE transfers, share sales and outsourcing/offshoring arrangements. These transactions often cover many international jurisdictions. Graham‘s clients include global financial services companies and FTSE 100 companies. Graham also works on employment and regulatory issues arising in sport. Robin Jeffcott, partner and head of Reed Smith’s Europe and Middle East employment group, commented: “Graham’s arrival comes after several years of significant growth for the employment group. His appointment is a response to that growth and also reflects the ambitions of this team. Graham’s expertise matches exactly the group’s needs and is also aligned to the needs of our clients in our corporate and financial industry groups.” Graham Green added: "I see this as a fantastic opportunity to join an excellent team working for the highest quality clients on very significant employment matters. The Reed Smith employment group has ambitious plans for the future, building from a solid, established platform and I am delighted to now be part of those plans."
