Reed Smith promotes eighteen to partner across firms offices

International law firm Reed Smith has announced the election of 18 new partners firmwide, effective January 1 2010.
“Reed Smith’s longstanding commitment to develop and promote high performing, diverse legal talent is reflected in our selection of these individuals as partners,” said Gregory Jordan, Reed Smith’s Global Managing Partner. “I congratulate each of them on attaining this important career milestone and look forward to their continued contributions to our clients, our firm and our communities.”
Richard Ceeney in London is an engineering and construction lawyer and a member of the firm’s Real Estate practice group with wide-ranging experience in advising on and negotiating domestic and international contracts, primarily (but not exclusively) on behalf of developers, funders and end-users. Richard has also developed a strong complimentary specialty in the renewable energy field.
Anthony Poulopoulos, a member of Reed Smith’s European and Middle East Corporate Practice based in the Piraeus, Greece, office, is another new partner. He is involved in a variety of commercial matters ranging from contracts and commercial litigation to the operation of Greek subsidiaries and regulatory issues for numerous prominent international clients.

The firm’s new partners in Chicago are:
Benjamin Brimeyer, a member of the Financial Industry Group routinely represents banks and other financial institutions as well as borrowers in connection with a wide range of secured and unsecured lending transactions, including, acquisition and leveraged finance, syndicated loans, asset based loans, mezzanine loans and debtor-in-possession loan facilities.
Tracy Ferak is a member of the Midwestern Commercial Litigation Group. Her practice has an emphasis on complex product liability litigation and includes the trial or resolution of high risk automotive crashworthiness cases, commercial contract disputes, and other product liability matters throughout the United States
Andrew (“Andy”) Moss is a member of the Insurance Recovery Group. Andy’s practice focuses on representing and advising public and private company policyholders and their management and personnel in disputes, counseling and negotiation involving directors’ and officers’ liability, professional liability, employment practices liability, fiduciary liability and fidelity bond insurance.
Casey Westover, a member of theMidwestern Commercial Litigation Group has an active commercial litigation practice that includes trial and appellate work throughout the U.S., concentrated in product liability defense, securities litigation, and a wide variety of commercial disputes.

Reed Smith’s newest partners in Pennsylvania are:
Issac deVyver, a member of the Financial Industry Group in Pittsburgh, whose practice is devoted primarily to representing the firm's financial services clients in litigation involving mortgage, loan servicing, and other financial services related matters. Mr. deVyver also maintains a substantial class action practice.
Nicolle Bagnell, a member of the firm's Environmental team in the Global Regulatory Enforcement Group, in Pittsburgh. She represents energy clients in various matters, including natural gas condemnations, encroachment cases, and various contract disputes. Nicolle specializes in litigation and regulatory issues regarding the Marcellus Shale in Appalachia and provides advice on Marcellus Shale transactions. In addition, Nicolle counsels clients in a variety of environmental matters, such as due diligence for real estate transactions, representing clients on environmental claims in bankruptcy and advising clients on compliance with environmental regulations.
In Pittsburgh, Colin Wrabley, a member of the firm's Appellate Group, is an appellate and commercial litigator whose practice includes counseling, briefing and argument across a broad range of complex constitutional, statutory and jurisdictional issues at both the trial and appellate phases in state and federal courts throughout the country.
Philadelphia-based David Gutowski, in the State and Local Tax Group, whose practice involves handling multi-state sales tax and corporate tax controversies and appeals, including state tax litigation for corporate clients before administrative boards and courts in various jurisdictions
Joseph Tuso, in Philadelphia and a member of the Eastern Commercial LitigationGroup, whose national litigation practice focuses on commercial litigation, as well as representing real estate developers and contractors. Joseph also has extensive experience litigating employment matters, involving discrimination claims, restrictive covenants, defamation claims and unfair competition claims
Amy Maria Vanni in Philadelphia, a litigator in the Life Sciences and Health Industry Group, who handles a wide range of litigation matters including pharmaceutical, consumer product and industrial equipment cases.
Adam Masin, a member of the firm’s Life Sciences Health Industry Group in New York, represents leading pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in consolidated and individual product liability lawsuits at all stages of litigation. He has also handled a wide variety of complex business litigation and government investigations, including securities class actions, FCPA investigations, and corporate governance, antitrust, contract, and fraudulent conveyance lawsuits.
Russell Gaudreau in New York, a member of the firm's Life Sciences and Health Industry practice group, regularly counsels fortune 100 companies engaged in complex commercial and product liability litigation in state and federal courts across the country. Russell routinely manages teams of lawyers that serve as national, regional and local counsel to some of the world's largest pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers.
Oliver Beiersdorf is a member of the Commercial Litigation Group resident in the firm’s New York office and focuses his practice on aviation, marine and commercial litigation. Oliver represents airlines, product manufacturers, vessel owners, and other transportation industry clients in federal and state courts throughout the United States, including the representation of clients in high stakes multi-district litigation.
John Scott is a member of the Financial Industry Group in New York, practicing in the area of Commercial Restructuring & Bankruptcy.

Reed Smith’s newest partners in California are:
Los Angeles-based Nicole Herron Kolhoff, a member of the firm’s Financial Industry Group is a corporate finance lawyer who represents major banks and financial institutions, private equity funds and companies in syndicated financings, cross-border loans, secured and unsecured lines of credit, asset-based loans, bridge loans, mezzanine loans, and subordinated indebtedness."
San Francisco-based David Mittelman, is a securities lawyer in the Corporate & Securities Practice Group who regularly advises public and private companies, officers, directors, and investors on securities transactions, corporate governance, and SEC-related compliance matters.
