Shearman & Sterling is advising long-time client Cadbury on the US aspects of its proposed acquisition bid by Kraft. "Cadbury has been a client of the firm for almost 30 years," said Creighton Condon, Shearman & Sterling's lead partner on the transaction. "We have worked on most of their most significant transactions over that period, including the original acquisitions of Dr. Pepper and 7-Up and a number of other beverage brands, the sale of their international beverage business to The Coca Cola Company, the acquisition of the Adams candy business from Pfizer through which Cadbury expanded into gum, and the demerger last year of the company's North American beverage business."
