Reed Smith enhances its real estate group with further partner hire

International law firm Reed Smith has announced the appointment of Philip Olmer to its real estate group based in London. Philip will join the firm’s partnership from Olswang LLP. Philip’s practice focuses on complicated high value structured investment property and joint venture transactions. He also specialises in large scale development and regeneration projects. Philip acts for a number of public and private UK property companies, institutional city funds and numerous overseas investors. Philip’s appointment follows that of partner Jimmy Theodorou, who joined the firm’s real estate group from Denton Wilde Sapte LLP earlier this month. Graham Reid, partner and head of Reed Smith’s Europe and Middle East real estate group, commented: “Philip is a well known name in the real estate market in London and has worked on some of the largest investment and letting deals of 2009. He has a great reputation – both as a technical lawyer and for client service.
