Real Estate lawyer Wolfgang Karehnke joins Graf von Westphalen's Frankfurt office

Dr. Wolfgang Karehnke has been practising corporate and group law, property-related commercial law and litigation as a Rechtsanwalt (lawyer) since 1981. In recent years he has particularly acted on important reorganizations, restructurings and privatizations. After he was admitted to the German bar in 1981 he was a Rechtsanwalt (lawyer) and equity partner at the prestigious law firm, Pünder Volhard Weber & Axster, until they merged with Clifford Chance. Most recently he was a partner at the law firm Schiedermaier Rechtsanwälte from 2002 until 2009. There, from 2003 until 2008, he worked very closely together with David Wende and Thomas Schroiff, who both moved to Graf von Westphalen as partners from Schiedermair Rechtsanwälte in 2009. Preeminent projects, which the Karehnke, Wende and Schroiff team worked on during that period, were particularly the reorganization of IBAG and the sale of large volume property portfolios for Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH. At Graf von Westphalen Dr. Wolfgang Karehnke is a welcome addition to the Frankfurt Real Estate Team around the partners David Wende, Thomas Schroiff and Dr. Bettina Schmitt-Rady, who joined as a partner in January. His joining will expand the Frankfurt Corporate Practice Group. Dr. Wolfgang Karehnke will work at Graf von Westphalen as Of Counsel. Thomas Schroiff said, "David Wende and I worked together with Dr. Wolfgang Karehnke very closely and successfully for many years at Schiedermaier. He is a high-calibre new addition to our Frankfurt Team. That which belongs together thereby grows together again."
