CMS announces new competition partner in Austria

CMS announces the appointment of a new competition partner in the Vienna, Austria, office. Mr. Robert Keisler, who joined CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz in 2001 and specializes in EU and Austrian competition and merger control law, public procurement and state aid law, was named partner, effective February 1st, 2010.
Harald Kahlenberg, head of the CMS European Competition Practice Group commented: "This new appointment is yet another illustration of the CMS growth strategy and the continuing success of CMS in Europe. There is little doubt now that CMS is a leading European competition team with more than 140 competition lawyers in 22 countries and 29 offices." He added, "Mr. Keisler’s appointment demonstrates how CMS is committed to providing clients with high quality, hands-on, practical advice on an ever increasing pan-European basis."
The CMS Austria Competition Team’s is prominently situated in tier 2 of the 2009 Legal 500 Competition/Antitrust ranking, which reflects the team’s excellent reputation with clients in the industry. Mr. Bernt Elsner, Head of the CMS Reigh-Rohrwig Hainz Competition Team, stated: "Robert Keisler’s partnership appointment will add much needed support to the CMS Austria Competition team just when we are reaching new heights and better recognition". He added: "This appointment recognizes Robert's superior expertise, excellent client relations skills and reflects the distinguished reputation he has among the relevant business community. We are looking forward to Robert’s continued help and efforts to support new projects, namely in the cross-linked fields of state aid and public procurement law".
Robert Keisler said of his appointment, "It is a true privilege to help grow the success of such a dynamically active practice as the CMS Competition Team. In my new role, I will focus on our antitrust and merger control practice, in particular in the banking and capital markets fields".
The Austrian Competition team of CMS has been involved in some of the country’s most high profile cases, such as the Vienna Stock Exchange acquisition of a share in the Ljubljana Stock Exchange and the Österreichische Post merger-control activities across Central and Eastern Europe.
