International law firm Eversheds today announces that John Heaps has been elected Chairman of Eversheds LLP. He will take up his position on 1 May 2010 and serve a four year term. John Heaps, Chairman-elect of Eversheds LLP, said: "It is a very great privilege to have been elected to become the next Chairman of Eversheds. My priorities will be to continue the important work of raising our City and international profile, to provide an additional link between the partners and the Firm's leadership and to help, fully to exploit our skills and sector knowledge. We have an enviable reputation for high quality lawyers, innovation and excellent client service and I am confident that we are in a great position to build on the remarkable progress the firm has made in the last ten years. I would like to pay a personal tribute to Alan Jenkins for his superb chairmanship of the firm during a time when our international and City practices and profiles have grown significantly. While many have been involved his contribution has been particularly telling. His shoes will be very large ones to fill." John will combine the Chairmanship with his role as a Commercial Litigation Partner. He will be based at Eversheds' headquarters in London.
