NOTICIAS/ NEWS INTERNACIONAL published MARCH 12, 2010 Norton Rose appointed to new legal panel of Ofwat Norton Rose LLP, the international legal practice, announced that it has been appointed to the legal panel of the Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) following a competitive tender. The appointment is for four years. Ofwat is the economic regulator of water and sewerage companies in England and Wales. Norton Rose LLP’s appointment follows a tender process that started in November 2009. The Norton Rose team was led by Michael Grenfell, Mark Jones and Joosje Hamilton. Michael Grenfell, regulatory partner at Norton Rose LLP, commented: “We at Norton Rose are thrilled to have been appointed by Ofwat to their first legal panel. We will endeavour to provide them with a top-quality practical service to justify their confidence in us. This appointment means that we are now on the legal panels of two of the main UK sector regulators, Ofwat and the rail regulator ORR. In addition to our work for the UK Department of Health, Department for Transport and The Crown Estate, this appointment represents a significant boost to governmental, regulatory and public law practice.” The appointment to the Ofwat panel follows the re-appointment, of Norton Rose LLP, to the UK rail regulator in September 2009. Ofwat has announced that three law firms won places on its new Legal Panel. The three firms are Addleshaw Goddard, Norton Rose LLP and Wragge & Co.
