NOTICIAS/ NEWS DEALS - OPERACIONES published MARCH 22, 2010 Freshfields advises underwriters on £400m CPPGroup Plc IPO International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP has advised J.P. Morgan Cazenove and UBS Investment Bank in connection with CPPGroup Plc’s initial public offering of ordinary shares. Based on the offer price, the market capitalisation of international life assistance business CPPGroup Plc at the commencement of conditional dealings was approximately £396 million. The company intends to use net proceeds received from the global offer to pay down part of the Group’s existing net debt. The global offer will provide founder and majority shareholder of the company Hamish Ogston with the opportunity to partly realise his investment in the Group. Corporate partner Stephen Revell led the Freshfields team with assistance from partner Sarah Murphy, senior associate David Cotton and associates Dan McNamee and Erica MacDonald, Barbara Hungerford and John Yandell (all corporate). Partner Colin Hargreaves and associate Andreas Koller advised on tax aspects.
