International law firm Eversheds has advised the Hull BSF Esteem Consortium on its £400M joint venture with Hull City Council to deliver Hull’s 23 school programme over the next ten years. The consortium, which comprises Morgan Sindall Investments Limited (MSIL), Robertson Capital Projects Investments Limited and the Sewell Group plc, will provide building, project and operational management as well as ICT provision for the programme over a 25 year period. The consortium’s supply chain includes Morgan Ashurst, Robertson Facilities Management and RM. Closure of the scheme, which saw the consortium move from selected bidder to financial close in under four months, sees Eversheds’ tally of BSF projects it has advised on hit 30. The local education partnership created by the joint venture is the fiftieth to be established pursuant to the national Building Schools for the Future programme. Morgan Sindall Investments Limited Director, Richard Dixon commented: “Eversheds has a great track record in BSF. Having worked with the team before we can attest to their expertise and their ability to understand the complexity of issues in the round, whilst maintaining a strong down to earth commercial approach which keeps the bigger picture in focus.” Head of BSF and lead partner for the Eversheds team, Adrian Turner added: “Having previously worked with all three partners in the Hull BSF Esteem Consortium, we understand their deep commitment to delivering added value through strong public private partnerships. This programme promises to bring a welcome boost to schools infrastructure in the region and will be a lasting legacy for years to come.”
