NOTICIAS/ NEWS DEALS - OPERACIONES published MARCH 26, 2010 Norton Rose advises Corio Italia on acquisition of shopping and entertainment centre in Sardinia International legal practice Norton Rose Studio Legale has advised Corio on the acquisition from Schroders of Le Vele Shopping Centre and adjacent Millennium Entertainment Centre (together, "Le Vele") for around €103 million. With a leasable area of 44,400 sq. mt., including a multiplex cinema, bars, restaurants and ample parching, Le Vele is one of the largest shopping centres on the island of Sardinia. It is located in the middle of a densely populated area is easily accessible from Cagliari and surrounding towns. The acquisition of Le Vele fits in with Corio’s strategy, which focuses on shopping centre dominance in the catchment area, good visibility and accessibility from surrounding principal routes and steady financial performance. Norton Rose has assisted Corio on other transactions in Italy, including the recent acquisition by Corio of the Campania Shopping Centre, located in Naples. The Norton Rose team, based in Milan, was led by corporate finance partner Nicolò Juvara, assisted by Anna Oneto, Laura Tricomi and Antonio Ortu. Simonelli Associati assisted Corio on tax matters. Schroders were advised by the Italian firm, Studio Legale Uppi.
