Linklaters announces the appointment of Sandeep Katwala as regional managing partner of the firm’s Emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA) practice, with effect from 1 May 2010. Sandeep succeeds Stuart Salt who was appointed Asia Managing Partner earlier this year. Sandeep will continue to head up the firm’s India practice and to work closely with many of the firm’s India-related clients Sandeep, a partner at Linklaters since 2000, has been head of the firm’s dedicated India practice for the past six years. Prior to joining Linklaters, he spent six years as a corporate financier. Since joining Linklaters he has worked on a variety of energy and infrastructure projects around the world and corporate M&A and joint venture investments into and out of India. Simon Davies, Linklaters managing partner, said: "I am delighted to welcome Sandeep as regional managing partner - EEMEA. The CEE, Middle East, Russia/CIS and Africa are important and dynamic markets. Furthermore, we are seeing increasing cross-border activity between the EEMEA region and Asia (including India).
