NOTICIAS/ NEWS DEALS - OPERACIONES published June 09, 2010 Norton Rose Studio Legale and Allen & Overy advise AES Solar on project financing of a photovoltaic project in Italy AES Solar closes on Euro 31m project financing for 8 MW photovoltaic project in Italy Through one of its subsidiaries, AES Solar Energy Ltd (AES Solar), a joint venture between the AES Corporation (NYSE: AES) and Riverstone Holdings LLC, closed on long-term non-recourse financing facilities of €31 million to finance the construction of the 8MW Torchiarolo solar photovoltaic (PV) facility project, located in the Puglia region of Italy. This is the second solar PV project which AES Solar closed this year. AES Solar is now moving forward to develop a pipeline of PV projects under Italy’s feed-in tariff structure under the “Conto Energia� scheme. The international legal practice Allen & Overy advised AES Solar, while Norton Rose Studio Legale advised the two banks which participated in this financing: UniCredit Mediocredito Centrale (as Agent) and Centrobanca - Banca di Credito Finanziario e Mobiliare. Leading the Norton Rose Team was banking and finance partner Stefano Maria Zappalà. The Allen & Overy team was led by banking and finance partner Catia Tomasetti. The 8MW Torchiarolo project is expected to reach commercial operation before the end of 2010.
