Baker & McKenzie announced that it has recently acted as Ukrainian law counsel to Mobile TeleSystems OJSC, one of the leading telecommunications providers in Ukraine and CIS, with respect to its USD750 million ten-year Eurobond offering. The transaction was structured as an offering of 8.625% loan participation notes due 2020, which are issued under Regulation S and Rule 114A, and are listed on the Irish Stock Exchange. The Baker & McKenzie team was led by partner Serhiy Chorny, with significant input from partner Ihor Olekhov and associates Victoria Ischenko, Olena Kuchynska, Maksym Hlotov and Kateryna Tkachenko. Commenting on the offering, Serhiy Chorny, the Partner heading the Debt Capital Markets Practice Group in Kyiv, said: "We are proud that our clients entrust us with their most remarkable and challenging assignments, which require significant concentration of resources and tailored approach." Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse and The Royal Bank of Scotland were the joint lead managers of the issue.
