Reed Smith adds leading energy industry lawyer to its Washington D.C office

International law firm Reed Smith has announced the appointment of partner Amy Koch, who joins the firm’s Washington D.C. office from Patton Boggs.
Amy has served clients in the energy industry for over 25 years and was formerly Patton Boggs’ senior partner responsible for strategic initiatives in the energy industry.
Reed Smith adds leading energy industry lawyer to its Washington D.C officeAmy has advised international investors, lenders and industrial companies on federal and state energy regulatory and transactional matters involving the successful acquisition, debt restructuring and financing of electric generating assets totaling over $14 billion since 2003.
Over the course of her career Amy has advised on the acquisition and utility regulation of solar, wind, geothermal, conventional hydroelectric, pumped storage, hydrokinetic, and natural gas-fired generating facilities. She also advises renewable resource developers, power marketers, and industrial companies on FERC and NERC compliance requirements, state retail competition opportunities, participation in RTO/ISO markets, electric market design issues, as well as the development of interconnection facilities, wholesale and retail power agreements, transmission agreements.
